Background
The coronavirus pandemic has increased feelings of loneliness among youth. With the country entering a second lockdown, Young Impact (supported by ABN AMRO) sought to address this critical social issue through a large-scale campaign aimed at young people.
Approach
Teenagers are eager to go out, explore the world and meet new people. However, COVID-19 related measures have put a strain on these forms of self-development. Our campaign sends a clear message: we’re not claiming to solve the pandemic or fix all social issues. Instead, we want to ensure that young people feel heard and understood. Because simply knowing you’re not alone can transform how you feel about your struggles and yourself.
Alongside our campaign video, we introduced a WhatsApp service for those feeling lonely and kicked off a widespread card campaign. This initiative allowed young people to reach out and send supportive cards to peers dealing with loneliness.
